Espagne : Serranía de Cuenca et Arén (Huesca)
L’Espagne est réputée dans le monde entier pour sa diversité géographique et ses caractéristiques culturelles. Située à un peu plus de 200 km de Madrid, au cœur de la péninsule, se trouve la Serranía de Cuenca, qui fait partie du système ibérique. Ces chaînes de montagnes possèdent d’immenses richesses naturelles. En revanche, dans le nord de l’Espagne, à 250 km de Barcelone, dans la province de Huesca, se trouve Arén, un environnement naturel parfait pour la chasse.

La Montería
Cette modalité de chasse unique est profondément enracinée dans la culture rurale espagnole. Il jouit d’une grande popularité en raison de sa tradition, de son histoire et de son importance culturelle. Lors des monterías, les chasseurs doivent avoir une excellente connaissance de la forêt pour encercler efficacement les lignes armées pendant que les chiens de chasse fouillent la forêt, guident les sangliers et les dirigent vers les positions des chasseurs.
Dans plusieurs communautés autonomes d’Espagne, les monterías ont été déclarées patrimoine culturel. Cette reconnaissance reconnaît que les deux activités ont des impacts sociaux, culturels, économiques et environnementaux basés sur l’éthique et la nature de la chasse.
